It’s that time of year again, and here are my favourite images from 2019!
Short on time? Have a little look at the slideshow below to see a little taster of some of my favourite images from the year just passed. There were so many, that I’ve added a few more to the blog post below! If you have a few extra minutes, scroll on down to give some of the frames in there a closer look, and have a ready about what I got up to in 2019!
Grab a cuppa and have a read about my 2019
What an incredible year 2019 has been! Looking back at my first wedding of the year in January it feels both like a lifetime ago, and also only five minutes ago! I’ve had such a busy year, with a total of 32 amazing weddings (plus another one which I attended as a guest!) and 4 branding shoots, 11 family shoots, 15 pre-wedding shoots whilst working 2.5 days a week and spending the rest of my time with a baby who has morphed into a toddler as the months have passed by!
Weddings
Every year I’m blown away that so many couples put their trust in me to document their wedding days, and I love looking back at the weddings I’ve had the privilege to be a part of and reliving all the amazing moments I’ve had the opportunity to experience. From celebrant-led weddings in back gardens, to luxury weddings in some of the country’s most gorgeous venues, to small intimate elopements, every wedding I’ve been a part of this year has been amazing, and I’ve had such lovely feedback from my couples that just thinking about it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside 🙂
‘You were honestly so amazing. I really felt like you were my fourth bridesmaid. So many guests have commented on how great and laid back you were, everyone loved you! If we could plan our wedding again, we would choose you as our photographer every single time.’

“I’m not even sure how to begin explaining how wonderful Becky is, but I’ll try! Becky was cool & calm to my frantic & nervous. She corralled our guests for photos exceptionally and caught some truly wonderful moments. If you’re looking for a photographer who will catch all of the tears, laughter, and happiness – I honestly can’t recommend Becky enough. We love every one of our photos! Thank you, Becky!!”

It’s so amazing to get such wonderful feedback after a wedding!
Awards
I was absolutely bowled over to be awarded Photographer of the Year in the Four Counties Wedding Awards this year! It’s SUCH a competitive category, and I’ve been lucky enough to have previously won 3rd place in 2017, and 2nd place in 2018, so to bag the top award in 2019 was such an honour! I attended the Gala in November as a bit of an excuse to have a night out with my other half, but wasn’t expecting to win, so it was an amazing surprise!
As one of the winners in the Four Counties Wedding Awards, I have the opportunity to take part in a special styled shoot so watch this space for that coming soon!
Not only did I win the Four Counties Wedding Awards, I was also shortlisted for the third year running, which was also very exciting, and I attended the awards evening where I saw some of my great friends pick up the big awards, including Nina of Meadowsweet Cakes, Becky of Feather and Ferns, and Katie of Songbird Weddings. Congratulations to all you awesome ladies!
Mentoring
After being asked by lots of people for help with their business, second shooting opportunities, and mentoring, this year I finally launched my 10 week photography mentoring programme! It’s so satisfying being able to share my knowledge and love for the art and the industry with new and aspiring wedding photographers, and to help existing photographers with their work and building a strong and profitable business. This year there’s lots more to come from this side of my business, including power sessions and courses, so watch this space!
You can take a look at my mentoring page over here.
At home…
This year has been hectic personally, and very different to 2018 which was understandably hectic, giving birth to a human and everything. I’ve felt more at home in by business and as a mum this year which has been great, and having some balance once Abby went to nursery was brilliant. Running a business and having a baby/toddler isn’t easy but it’s been a great year! Thank you to the amazing Faye Cornhill for her wisdom and advice which have really helped my business, and also to Becca for her continued friendship, advice and support.
As a random aside away from my business, this year I’ve also qualified as a Kettlercise instructor (random I know!) but that has been a great achievement which has helped me keep my physical fitness up – a challenge since having Abby!
A few thank you’s
I always take a quick moment at this time of year and in this blog post to say thank you to those who have helped me this year. Firstly, I have to say a huge thank you to my lovely husband Pete. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without him. Thank you for all your unwavering support, for going down to four days a week to give me a bit more time to work (although I’m pretty sure that hasn’t been too much of a chore for you!) and for putting up with me working ridiculous hours over weekends and into the night in the busy periods. Thank you for being me tech support and helping me when I break things, thank you for being the best daddy to Abby but most of all thank you for just being you 🙂
She obviously can’t read this but I must also thank my little sidekick Abby. Thank you for being gorgeous and cheeky and for not learning to walk until you were 17 months old so I could actually manage to get a bit of work done occasionally!
More huge thanks to my mum for being so supportive and looking after Abby on days when I have her at home during the busy summer months. Mum is my biggest cheerleader and so excited by even the smallest of my achievements! Thank you!
A big thank you to my friends for putting up with having to book my diary up a year in advance! Katie, Laura, Jo, Laura, Zara, Anna, Zarina, Des, Mel, Kate, Laura, Mike and Thalia – you are all amazing 🙂
Thanks also to my amazing industry friends Mike, Becca, Sophie, Faye, Becky, Nina, Sara, Damion and everyone else – there are too many of you to mention! Big thanks to the incredible Becky Lord who has totally redesigned my branding and website. That technically happened in 2020, so you’ll get a mention in my 2020 review post too! Thank you so much – I love it all!
The images!
‘Enough thank you’s!’ I hear you cry! And I agree – well done if you made it this far! Take a look below for some pretty pictures I took when people let me come along to their weddings with my camera in 2019 🙂 Here’s to an equally amazing 2020!!
