Becky Harley Photography – My 2021 Favourites
It’s been a while since I did an proper roundup blog post, hasn’t it! See, I don’t know if you heard about it but there was this virus that closed everything down for a year… you did?! Oh so I don’t need to tell you what a nightmare it all was 🙈
Anyway, things were especially interesting for me as I had my second baby at the end of 2020, so the first chunk of 2021 was a bit of a blur of sleepless nights, and then the next chunk was too as he is a terrible sleeper! But I also found the time alongside juggling a newborn and a toddler, to photograph a bunch of fabulous celebrations of varying size throughout the year.
The year began in lockdown, and by the time we got to a place where weddings were beginning to happen again I was coming out of my newborn haze and into a bit of structure and routine, and it was lovely to get back to doing what it had been a very long time coming, and photographing full day weddings with more than just a handful of people in attendance. The first ‘back to normal’ wedding I shot was in July, with a few smaller celebrations and micro weddings happening before then.
I was delighted to be back at Coltsfoot Country Retreat, to see the incredible changes and renovations that it had undergone since the last time I’d shot there in January 2020. It looks incredible being opened up to the high barn ceilings. I was also lucky enough to be a part of some gorgeous celebrations in private garden marquees, at lovely venues like South Farm, a few visits to the lovely Offley Place as well as new venues to me like Bassmead Manor Barns, St Michael’s Manor, Pendley Manor and Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. Such a varied selection of beautiful wedding days in 2021 and I’m so excited to share a selection of shots from the weddings that I worked at this year.
