2022 Highlights

Becky Harley Photography – My 2022 Highlights!

Here we are again at the end of another year! I don’t know about you but I honestly feel like someone has put time on fast forward. I’m not sure it’s since having kids or just generally getting older but time seems to fly past so quickly at the moment. It honestly seems like about five minutes ago that I was sat here writing about my 2021 and putting the last slideshow together.

2022 has been brilliant – back to normal in many ways, with weddings being ‘normal’ post covid from the off, but also personally having a little time and structure back. My little one starting nursery at the beginning of the year has been fantastic, and then my older one starting school in September. has given me a little more time to focus back into my work and business.

I’ve had an absolute blast photographing all the weddings, celebrations and fabulous times for my couples this year. Some of my weddings had a slightly new dynamic – several of my couples were married in small ceremonies in 2020 or 2021 and when it came to 2022 were finally able to have the celebration they wanted with their friends and family, but this time without the added nerves of actually getting married! It was so lovely to catch up with people again after photographing the first half of their weddings, and really nice to see their guests and families again in many cases.

Once again I’ve had the pleasure of photographing at some of my favourite venues including Coltsfoot Country Retreat, Offley Place, The Henry Moore Studios and Gardens and The Granary Estates, but I’ve been lucky enough to work in some new venues like the gorgeous Villiers Barn in Essex, and The Great Lodge in Great Bardfield for the first time. Not only that but I’ve been privileged to be invited into several family home weddings taking place on private estates and farms. These are always a real treat as they are always so personal to each couple.

Alongside my wedding photography I also launched my Hertfordshire Branding Photography website which you can find over at Becky Harley Creative, and have been excited to work with lots more families who have asked me to photograph their little ones (you can see more of my family photography here).

It wouldn’t be an end of year round up post without a few thank yous. Firstly to my lovely family and amazing friends for their support. I literally couldn’t do it without you all! I also need to thank my second shooters this year, Tori, Mike and Lindsey for all your help and support, and great banter during long weddings!

To my friends in the wedding industry, well done! Another year that puts covid far behind us – let your hair down for a few drinks or a rest over Christmas – you deserve it!

Lastly to all my amazing couples and clients from this year, and those in previous years and those who have booked me for the future, thank you for putting your trust in me to capture these special moments and memories for you!

Take a look at my slideshow below, or a selection of some of my favourite stills from this year’s weddings. If you’re interested you can also take a look at my previous annual highlight blogs here for 2017201820192020 and 2021.

My 2023 diary is almost completely booked out for weddings now but I do have a few spaces left, so don’t delay if you’d like to talk to me about getting your date booked in. Just get in touch and let me know about your plans. If you’re looking for family photography or branding photography for sole traders or small businesses I’d love to hear from you too!
