In 2020, once lockdown lifted a little, I caught up with Ayron and Scott for their pre-wedding shoot. We decided to head over to one of my favourite pre-wedding shoot locations in the area, Panshanger Park, which I often suggest to my clients as a location that has it all! There are secluded woodlands, open fields, a lake, and sometimes sheep and cows grazing, or high cornfields or bluebells at the right time of year!
Ayron and Scott hadn’t initially intended on having a pre-wedding shoot, but after their wedding plans were affected by lockdown and Covid-19, they decided to move their day to 2021 and thought it would be nice to have a pre-wedding shoot in 2020 instead. They also mentioned to me that they were a little nervous about having their photos taken. This is really common! I never expect any of my couples to turn up to their pre-wedding shoot feeling totally chilled and happy about having their photos taken! It’s a bit of a daunting thing, but I always do my best to make people feel comfortable. A lot of a pre-wedding shoot is spent chatting as we walk between locations, and we don’t take pictures for the full 90 minutes – that would be a bit overkill!
I was really pleased that the weather played ball and we even had some gorgeous golden light peeking through the trees at one point! I do suggest trying to do pre-wedding shoots later in the day, or towards the golden hour in the evening, to give us the best chance of getting some beautiful evening sunshine, particularly in the summer!
