Worth the wait!
After a hold up due to Covid, Ayron and Scott’s gorgeous winter wedding day was worth the wait! You may recall seeing my recent blog about Ayron & Scott’s pre-wedding shoot, so I just had to share photos from their actual wedding day!
It was an unforgettable day as Ayron and Scott said “I do” at Coltsfoot Country Retreat in Datchworth, Hertfordshire. Despite being in early December, Ayron and Scott were blessed with a bright and sunny day, and the golden evening light made for the perfect backdrop for their wedding photos.
Ayron & Scott both got ready in the morning at Coltsfoot Country Retreat with their bridesmaids and ushers. The bridal suite is nice and private and provides a gorgeous spot for the wedding preparations. Lisa Lyons Bridal created Ayron’s bespoke wedding gown, and she accessorised it with several stunning pieces in gold, along with a long veil. All the guys looked dashing in tuxedoes.
They sat down to a delicious meal cooked by the talented chefs at Coltsfoot, and then braced themselves for some speeches including some embarrassing anecdotes from the best men
After dinner they danced the night away to a fabulous DJ, JN Sounds!
Bespoke gown and tuxedoes
The couple both got ready in the morning at Coltsfoot Country Retreat with their bridesmaids and ushers. Ayron and her bridesmaids were up in the bridal suite, which is nice and private and provides a gorgeous spot for the wedding preparations.
Ayron looked absolutely stunning. Emma Kim Hair styled Ayron’s hair, and her make-up by Michelle Nash was flawless. Lisa Lyons Bridal created Ayron’s bespoke wedding gown, and she accessorised it with several stunning pieces in gold, along with a long veil. Meanwhile, Scott and his groomsmen were dashing in their Tuxedoes by TuxLux London. I managed to pop down to see them during their preparation too.
Ayron and Scott opted for a deep green colour scheme to their day with gold and white touches. Jane Maples Flowers arranged the flowers, and they were absolutely gorgeous. The white flowers, and foliage perfectly complimented the venue, season and the bridal party’s outfits.
Warm outside in winter
The ceremony took place in the permanent marquee at Coltsfoot, which was situated in the courtyard and featured underfloor heating, ensuring that everyone was warm and comfortable during the vows. The ceremony was a touching and emotional event, and the love between Ayron and Scott was palpable.
After the ceremony came a confetti throw in the lane just outside the venue, followed by a drinks reception in the bar whilst I cracked on with the group photos. Ayron was an absolute trooper and powered through the shots on their list despite the cold!
Whilst the guests were seated for dinner, Ayron, Scott and I took a stroll around the venue for a few quick couples portraits, and they were announced in to dinner to much applause. The guests were treated to a delicious meal in the barn, followed by some fantastic speeches.
Personal touches
Ayron’s sister (Lauryn’s Sweet Creations) made their wedding cake which was a true labor of love and it showed in the presentation and taste. The cake was absolutely delicious and was a huge hit with the guests.
As the day turned into evening, the sun began to set, casting a gorgeous golden light, and I had the opportunity to grab the couple for some stunning portraits. I love a golden sunset and the light was perfect for capturing the happy couple.
After dinner, the evening party was in full swing, with Dan from JN Sounds presiding over the dance floor. The couple and their guests danced the night away, and it was a truly joyous occasion.
New friends!
It was an absolute pleasure to be the photographer for Ayron and Scott’s big day. Not only did the day go off without a hitch, but I also got on really well with the happy couple, who are both relaxed and fun-loving. Throughout the planning and during their pre-wedding shoot, we got to know each other quite well, and by the end of the wedding, I felt like I had made two new friends.
Ayron and Scott’s wedding was a beautiful and joyful occasion that we will never forget. Their relaxed and fun-loving personalities, combined with the stunning setting and beautiful details, made for a fantastic day, and it was a privilege to be a part of their story. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love, and we know that they will have many happy memories to look back on for years to come.
If you’re getting married at Coltsfoot Country Retreat like Ayron and Scott, I’d really love to hear from you and to be a part of your big day. You can see more of my other Coltsfoot Weddings here.
