Relaxed Back Garden Marquee Wedding in the Hertfordshire Countryside – Emma & Simon

Considering tying the knot in a back garden wedding on some private land, or at your parents house? This back garden marquee wedding is full of plenty of inspiration for you!

Emma and Simon got married in a beautifully personal celebrant-led ceremony in Simon’s parents family home in Hertfordshire. It was a stunning back garden marquee wedding, with included incredible flowers everywhere; a beautiful bespoke wedding gown and even an an espresso martini truck in the evening to fuel the evening party!

THE WEDDING

After getting ready at the Wellington pub in Old Welwyn, Emma and her bridesmaids made their way to Simon’s parents house for the ceremony in a classic car. Led by the lovely Rosalie from Rituals Today, the ceremony took place under an arbor filled with flowers in the sunny back garden of the house. It was absolutely stunning. Celebrant-led ceremonies are such a lovely way of giving couples flexibility with celebrating their wedding when and where they like, and the actual service can be so much more personal. It was a gorgeous occasion, full of happiness.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom were showered with confetti, which everyone enjoyed. I captured some really special photos of the guests enjoying their drinks reception in the shade of the trees whilst a jazz quartet played in the background. The weather at this beautiful back garden marquee wedding was all sunshine and blue skies, in fact it was about 34 degrees and was the hottest day of the year so far! What luck!

THE BACK GARDEN MARQUEE WEDDING

The reception was held in a marquee in the gardens of Simon’s family house. Beautiful hanging pink and white flowers with plenty of foliage adorned the marquee which looked so elegant. Emma and Simon were announced in to the marquee by a family friend and cheered all the way by their guests. Before food was served, there were some excellent speeches which left lots of people in tears, including tears of laughter in the case of the best man’s speech! Guests were then served a delicious meal by the caterers, which went down really well with everyone.

THE EVENING

After the wedding reception was finished, the band started up to get the party started, and the newlyweds opened proceedings with an enthusiastic dance which got everyone in the party mood! From that point onwards, the dancefloor was packed all evening with everyone busting moves left, right and centre! The excellent live band kept the party going all night and really involved the crowd, and the espresso martinis certainly helped to fuel the dancefloor!

The evening ended with Jagerbombs all round, particularly amongst the groom and his mates which was hilarious, and everyone had a great time. The whole day was fantastic and was so much fun.

I loved this back garden marquee wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for a wedding photographer to tell the story of your day, please get in touch as I’d love to hear from you!
