Back at the beginning of last month I caught up with the super lovely Becca and Russell for their pre-wedding shoot. Becca and Russell live really close by to me in Welwyn Garden City, so we decided to keep it local for their engagement shoot, and to go to Panshanger Park, in between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford.
Panshanger Park Engagement Shoot
Panshanger Park is a lovely spot, with lots to offer for an Engagement shoot, rolling hills, lakes and streams, long grass, areas of woodland with bluebells poking through – the list goes on! It was the perfect place for us to catch up, take some photos, and take Milly the dog for a walk!
Sadly, we were not blessed with good weather during their shoot! The skies were grey and drizzle rained down on us for the first half an hour or so, but luckily the rain stopped and we were able to get some lovely photographs without the inclusion of an umbrella! If it’s going to pour down, it’s not uncommon for me to suggest rescheduling an engagement shoot.
I don’t mind shooting in the rain at all (and of course, on the wedding day if it rains there’s not a lot you can do!) but it’s important to me that my couples are relaxed and enjoy their experience during the pre-wedding shoot, and often that’s not going to happen in the pouring rain! That said – I think there’s something really lovely about some shots cuddled up under a brolly, and I particularly like the ones below of Becca and Russell keeping dry under their umbrella!
Becca and Russell mentioned to me that they were a bit nervous about their pre-wedding shoot, but I think by the end they had gotten totally used to me being there with my camera, which is what it’s all about! I do love it when couples bring their dogs along on a shoot too, so it was lovely to have little Milly with us, even if she did run off for a while and Russell had to climb a big hill to find her!
