As a wedding photographer, it’s always a privilege to capture the special moments of a couple’s big day. Corinna and Alex’s wedding at The Granary Estates on the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk border, was a beautiful and emotional celebration. I was thrilled to be a part of it.
The Preparations
The day began with Corinna getting ready at her family home with her parents and bridesmaids. It was a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Elly-Jayne Hair & Make Up and Lucy Payne Make Up working their magic to create a stunning look for the bridal party. There was an emotional moment when Corinna gave her dad a gift in the morning. Corinna’s dress from Burr Bridal was simply beautiful, and she looked radiant as she prepared to marry Alex.
One thing I loved about the personal touches during this wedding was the fact that Corinna was driven to the ceremony venue in the same classic car that had driven her parents as newlyweds on their wedding day years ago. I thought that was such a lovely and meaningful touch!
The Granary Estates
The wedding venue was stunning, with flint walls, original timber beams, and surrounding cornfields creating a picturesque setting for the day. The ceremony took place in the smaller Flint barn, which was filled with emotion and love. There were readings by Alex’s mum, and the bride and groom both read personal vows to each other. It was an unforgettable and touching ceremony. Alex was particularly moved by Corinna’s entrance, and there were tears all round.
Photo time!
After the ceremony, we made the most of the beautiful surroundings to take some group photographs in the courtyard. The drinks reception took place here with Hall & Co providing delicious canapés for guests to enjoy. As the guests went to be seated for dinner, Corinna, Alex and I snuck off for photos in the surrounding grounds of the venue.. From the blossom trees to the long drive and the swing, every location offered a unique and beautiful backdrop for the couple’s photos. We even managed to catch a bit of the sunset, which added an extra layer of magic to the occasion.
Tablescapes and Details
The wedding breakfast was held in the Granary barn, which was the perfect setting for the couple’s celebrations. The beautiful flowers by Clare Jones Floral Design added an elegant touch, with white, cream, and green foliage. I really loved the décor the couple had curated in the barn, with limoncello favours (a nod to Corinna’s family heritage) and beautiful gold rimmed glassware which really elevated the look and feel of the setting. The wedding cake by One Part Love Bakery was wonderful, and there were even a selection of delicious cupcakes for guests to enjoy.
The Evening
After some emotional speeches, the room was cleared to prepare for the evening celebrations. Corinna & Alex’s first dance kicked off the evening and they started the dancing off in style with a confetti cannon moment. I absolutely love photographing a confetti canon first dance, they always look amazing!. The celebrations continued long into the night, with Agent Joe providing classic floor fillers that had everyone up and dancing.
As the night drew to a close, the guests headed outside to the courtyard for toasting smores. There were also sparklers with the bride and groom and their bridal party. It was the perfect end to a perfect day. I was thrilled to have captured so many wonderful memories for Corinna and Alex to treasure forever.
