My second wedding in two days took me to Islington in London. Whilst I’m based in Hertfordshire, it’s only a short hop on the train into London!
The wedding prep was a bit different for this wedding – usually I’m with the bride in the morning but today I got to spend the morning with the boys at Gentleman’s Vanity in Holborn to capture them enjoying a traditional wet shave – steam, cut throat razors and flames aplenty!
Once the boys were ready, we headed over to the amazing venue for the rest of the day – Frederick’s Restaurant and Bar in Islington. I love this venue, it’s so stylish! Whilst the groom and his boys greeted the guests, preparations were made for the ceremony, and once everyone was seated, the stunning bride made her entrance – emotions were running high!
After an emotional ceremony, the guests enjoyed some bubbles whilst we went for a walk around the streets of Islington for some portraits. One of the things that I love about photographing weddings in London, is having the opportunity to explore the area around the venue – there are always so many little spots for amazing photos, cool walls and doorways hidden down cobbled streets. Islington is certainly no exception!
After a delicious meal (the food at Fredericks is amazing!) we enjoyed some seriously hilarious speeches. I hear a lots of speeches as a wedding photographer, but this Best Man’s speech was so funny that I found it hard to keep the camera still at times from laughing so hard!
As the sun began to set, the lovely newlywed couple (accompanied by their unborn bump!) indulged me with a few more shots in the streets nearby, which was amazing. Then it was time for cake and dancing!
If you’re looking for a photographer for your London wedding, or if you’re getting married at Frederick’s in London – drop me a line to discuss your photography – I’d love to hear from you.
