Last summer I headed down to Buckinghamshire to shoot this fabulous wedding at Missenden Abbey. The couple had their marriage ceremony at a local church, which was packed to the rafters with friends and family who came from far and wide to celebrate with the happy couple.
There was a fantastic atmosphere during the service, with all the guests dancing and singing during the hymns – everyone was having a ball. After the service, it was time to jump into the lovely white Bentley before heading back to Missenden Abbey.
Next came one of my favourite moments of the day. The bride’s sister had planned most of the reception details for the couple, so the stunning marquee with its theme of Hollywood Glamour, and the impressive 5 tier wedding cake, were a total surprise to the new Mr and Mrs – it made for some fantastic reactions, I guess this must be what it’s like to be on Don’t Tell the Bride!
The weather wasn’t kind to us for the afternoon, but we managed a couple of quick portraits in the grounds whilst there was a break in the rain, and also grabbed a couple in the lovely interior of Missenden Abbey. Then, after the couple were announced in, the guests feasted on some delicious food, followed by some great speeches, MC’d by the bride’s brother.
After capturing the romantic first dance, it was time for me to head home, leaving the 300 guests to party into the night. What a fantastic day at Missenden Abbey!
