Hertfordshire Maternity Photographer – Claire & Nick
Last autumn my lovely neighbours Claire and Nick asked me to take some photos of them together in advance of their new arrival! I love maternity shoots, so I was excited to get a date in the diary.
It’s a great idea to do bump photographs. You can get so busy with organising things in advance of your little one’s arrival, that you often find you don’t have any photographs of yourself whilst you were pregnant! The best time do to a maternity shoot is roughly between 34 and 36 weeks into your pregnancy. This means you’re still relatively mobile (!) and it’s far enough in advance of bump’s arrival for you not to worry, and your bump is looking lovely 🙂 It’s a great opportunity to get some precious photos that you can show to your little one in the years ahead and say ‘that’s you in there!’.
Claire, Nick and I went along to Panshanger Park in between Welwyn Garden City and Hertford. It’s one of my favourite spots for couples and portrait shoots as there are so many lovely spots. It’s popular with dog walkers, so our extra guest Maggie the chocolate labrador had plenty of room to run around and enjoy herself too! It was lovely to see the three (or four!?) of them playing in the open fields and autumnal sunshine.
If you’re expecting a little one and considering getting some maternity photos done, I would love to chat to you more and get something in the diary to help you capture and remember this special time in your life! I approach maternity shoots in much the same way I do couples photos and even wedding photography – nothing awkward or posed, just some light direction to help you feel comfortable, and then I let you interact and do your thing! Do drop me a line if you’d like to chat more about having a bump shoot done!
Check back in a few weeks to see some photos of Claire and Nick’s little bundle once he made an appearance!
