Whoopsie – looks like I’ve not blogged in over a month! I’m sure you’ve all been sick with worry about what has happened to me – but fear not, I am still alive! October has been seriously hectic, not least with catching up on editing all my summer weddings after I was busy having a couple of holidays in September, but I’ve also had four October weddings, four family shoots and three pre-wedding shoot, which I’ve had to cram in whilst still working part time around the little mini me. Busy times indeed!
Anyway, I had planned a load of blogs to write, I just haven’t gotten around to writing them, so watch this space for lots of exciting bits and bobs being published before Christmas.
Back to the order of the day – it’s now the END OF OCTOBER people. At the risk of repeating myself I cannot believe where this year has gone, it’s literally vanished before my eyes. I really love this time of year, its my favourite. The autumn colours have been utterly gorgeous round here, and I really love the cool, crisp autumn days. Plus it’s my birthday at the beginning of November so I always get excited when the nights start drawing in!
There are lots of lovely shots in my September Instagram round up – lots from summer weddings and one from way back in Jan. Let’s dive in.
#Five
My September holiday meant that I have been a little slow on the editing front from my August weddings but what a treat it’s been to work through Lauren and Sunny’s images! I’ve worked at the wonderful Henry Moore Foundation several times over the years and I’ve always kept my fingers crossed for an evening and a sunset like the one we had at this gorgeous wedding. I’ll share some shots in the coming weeks/months that will show you what I mean. For now though, I’m so glad that this shot made it into my September top five, it’s one of my favourites from this wedding! Created this portrait with a little help from my copper pipe and some awesome light 🙂
#Four
This spectacular sight is the Great Hall at Oxford Town Hall. I captured Suzannah and Tom’s gorgeous wedding here in January of this year, and I loved all their beautiful monochrome touches throughout the day. I blogged about their wedding earlier this year, which you can read more about here.
#Three
Here’s a shot from Sian and Nick’s September wedding! This was in their preview that they received just after the big day itself, and is so far one of my favourites from the day! This lovely couple were married at the beautiful Peckforton Castle, up north in Cheshire. Not my usual neck of the woods, but I loved my little trip up north to capture this spectacular wedding. Just look at all those flowers by Ian Lloyd Events! And Sian looks totally amazing in her beautiful Grace Loves Lace gown. Seriously special. It was a beautiful day and I can’t wait to share more photos from this lovely wedding.
#Two
Here’s Lauren and Sunny again being awesome in the golden hour light. Honestly I was so excited when we were walking through this field, I took hundreds of photos and was a little bit like a kid in a sweet shop – I just couldn’t contain myself! One of my favourite elements of this wedding was Lauren’s beatiful Mori Lee dress which looks lovely here. The detailing was pretty special though, I’m sure I’ll talk more about that another time. Be prepared for lots more of this wedding coming soon!
#One
I had two weddings at the Henry Moore Foundation in August and this was the first. In fact, I shared a shot from this wedding in my last Instagram roundup, which came in at number two in August. This one beats it by one place though, and I think you might be able to tell why. When the confetti is happening I’m simultaneously trying to shoot, focus, correct exposure and walk backwards whilst not crashing into grandad or your Auntie Joan. I obviously see these moments happening through the camera, but I’m never quite sure what split seconds I’ve managed to capture until after it happens. This time, just the right split second was caught on camera as Paul took a face full of confetti, courtesy of one of his ushers. Definitely going to be a contender for my favourite image of the year!!
So there you go – managed to get this round up done in October by the skin of my teeth! Happy Halloween everyone, I hope you enjoy whatever spooky goings on you have planned.
