Natural Engagement Photography in Hertford – Emily & Ian

I had a great time with Emily and Ian at Panshanger Park near Hertford for their pre-wedding shoot

I had a few engagement shoots booked in in March and Emily and Ian definitely won the prize for the best weather on theirs! Emily and Ian live close by to me so we shared a drive over to Panshanger Park for their shoot. It had been very rainy in the days leading up to the shoot, so whilst the weather was stunning for our shoot, it was extremely damp and muddy underfoot!

It took us a little while to pick our way around the less muddy parts of the lovely parkland, but we were rewarded with some gorgeous sunny weather that really made this shoot something special!

I already know Emily quite well as we both go to a local exercise class together, but this was the first time I’d really had the pleasure of chatting to Ian and getting to know them both together. I loved hearing about how they met several years ago at work, and the plans they had for their upcoming big day at Down Hall in Hatfield Heath. It’s such a lovely venue and they had so many plans for making the day absolutely fantastic and really unique to them.

I think both Emily and Ian were a little apprehensive at the idea of having an engagement shoot, but I love to keep my shoots really natural and relaxed and not at all cheesy. I think they enjoyed themselves – they are certainly very relaxed in each other’s company, which made for some awesome photos.

I’m sure I’ll be sharing photos from their gorgeous Down Hall wedding in due course, so keep an eye out for that in the coming months!

If you’re planning your wedding and are thinking about having a pre-wedding shoot, I’d really recommend it as an addition to your package – it’s a great way for us to get to know each other and you’ll get some lovely photos of the two of you together.
