Pat & Tony’s Wedding | Hertfordshire Wedding Photographer

Pat and Tony’s wedding took place at the end of August 2016. I absolutely loved getting to know these two since Pat first looking into booking me as her photographer back in May, and we’d enjoyed a lovely outing to Hitchin Lavender fields for their Engagement shoot too, so I was really looking forward to being a part of the celebrations on the big day!

Pat and Tony’s wedding was full of personal touches – particularly so as the reception took place in the back garden of their home! It was amazing to see the transformation with the lovely marquee and fairy lights illuminating the back garden. Pat and Tony worked so hard to get everything ready for their big day, so it was fantastic to see it all come together in the perfect wedding day for them.

I began the day with both the bride and the groom at their home – I’d suggested doing a ‘first look’ in the back garden as the couple were travelling to the ceremony together in Tony’s son’s Mercedes, and it was a nice way to create some special memories on the morning of the wedding. This was a lovely moment, and gave Pat and Tony a few moments to enjoy each other’s company in the morning.

The ceremony took place at Hertford Registry Offices, and as the Bride and Groom said their emotional vows in front of their closest friends and family, there was a real atmosphere of celebration! Once the ceremony was over, there was a fantastic confetti throw outside, and afterwards I managed to whisk the newlyweds off for some quick portraits in the lovely colonnades of the older part of the town hall, which made for some really lovely shots.

We all headed back to the house to enjoy some bubbles, garden games, and some delicious food with the rest of the guests, there were even some fantastic hand-made cocktails and special French Champagne handpicked by the new Mr & Mrs. There was an emotional moment when a couple of guests dialled in via Skype for a virtual experience of the day – Pat’s Canadian friends and relatives who couldn’t make it over for the wedding.

Pat and Tony said a few words in the back garden, and then cut their beautiful cake! There was just time for some quick photos in the lovely floral arch lit by fairy lights, before I had to head off, leaving the revels to go on into the night!

Thank you so much to Pat and Tony for letting me be a part of your special day – it’s been an absolute pleasure from start to finish!
