On a sunny day in August 2016 I was invited along to be a part of this lovely wedding in the beautiful cathedral city of Ely. Ely is such a lovely town, and it was so nice to spend the morning there attending a very grand ceremony in the stunning cathedral!
Passers by stopped what they were doing to watch as the gorgeous bride emerged from her vintage car, and made her way into the cathedral for the service. I think it must be the longest aisle I’ve ever seen a bride walk down!
Once the happy couple were married everyone made their way out onto the green opposite the cathedral for some confetti-action, and then it was off to the reception venue – the Old Hall. Another very grand old building – the guests were greeted onto the lawn with incredible vistas over the Cambridgeshire countryside to the cathedral.
After mingling and drinks, it was time for a lovely meal in the marquee, followed by some speeches which went down very well with everyone – there were lots of laughs to be had!
Before the formalities of the cake cutting and the first dance we managed to squeeze in some couples portraits down by the lake in the venue’s stunning grounds. They really make for some truly special shots!
