Abbey and Dan tied the knot in Berkshire last year, at a gorgeous Riverside Marquee Wedding. I was there to capture the action!
Abbey and Dan got married last September in a pretty church in Datchet. This was followed by a reception at the lovely Riverside Marquee – a beautiful venue in Berkshire, set along the river Thames. It was a lovely chilled out wedding, which is just my cup of tea! You might recognise Abbey and Dan from their engagement shoot in advance of their Riverside Marquee wedding, which I blogged a while back. You can see it here.
The excitement before the wedding
Abbey got ready at a nearby hotel with her mum and bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was lovely. Abbey was very chilled out all morning, although I think nerves started to show as she put on her beautiful dress. Daniel got ready at the couples home where my good friend Fiona was there to capture the action.
The wedding
The wedding itself was a church service in the village of Datchet not far from the couples home. Abbey was walked down the aisle by her mum and followed by her beautiful bridesmaids. The ceremony was lovely, and was signed by one of Daniel’s aunts, so his grandfather could enjoy it too. You could tell how excited Daniel and Abbey were to have tied the knot, and they left the church to a shower of confetti.
The reception
The reception was at the Riverside Marquee and they where they had Pimms on arrival in the afternoon. We were incredibly lucky with the weather! I kept my eye on it all day, as there was due to be a heavy downpour. Luckily it held off right through the group photos, just until everyone made their way into the marquee for dinner, when there was a thunderstorm!
They decorated the venue with pretty floral arrangements in birdcages, and provided Alice in Wonderland themed favours in the shape of sweets and little bottles of booze. The overall effect was really pretty. The place names were photos of each guest, so they could find their seats. They also had a candy cart, and the cake was fab. It had been made by some friends of the couple who are chefs. For dinner they served a delicious feast of antipasti sharing platters to start, followed by a choice of beef or chicken. This was followed by either tiramisu or panna cotta, and tea and coffee. I was lucky enough to have some of the beef and I’d thoroughly recommend it!
I grabbed Abbey and Dan for some couples pictures just after the speeches, as there was a gorgeous golden light streaming in over the marquee, just after the storm. It was stunning and we got some amazing photos! They finished off the evening with a wild party with everyone on the dance floor enjoying the live band.
The couple
Abbey wore a beautiful high necked dress from Windsor and Eton Brides and Daniel wore a dashing suit and striped waistcoat. They looked so gorgeous together.
Their wedding was really lovely and so laid back. Here’s their Riverside Marquee wedding!
