Romantic Country House wedding at Pendrell Hall in the West Midlands – Dominique & Nick
Dominique & Nick’s gorgeous wedding was full of love and laughter
Dominique and Nick got married last July at the lovely Pendrell Hall, which is a stunning country house in the little village of Codsall in the West Midlands. They chose Pendrell Hall, because it has so many beautiful spaces and gorgeous grounds, and didn’t require too much styling – the features speak for themselves! It was a gorgeous day that I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you for a while!
Getting ready
Dominique got ready at Pendrell Hall after having her hair done at a local salon with her bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Dominique chose to do her own make up, rather than bring in an external make up artist, as she wanted to feel like herself on the day. She then walked down the gorgeous staircase with her bridesmaids and dad to the ceremony.
The serious part
The wedding itself was an intimate affair in a beautiful room in Pendrell Hall. During the ceremony they had several lovely readings from friends and family. It was such a personal service. One of my favourite moments was after the couple had tied the knot – usually I’m not a huge fan of the ‘signing the register’ photo, but Dominique and Nick got their twin boys involved and I loved the shots we got of the four of them!
After the ceremony
The reception was out in the garden and they had photographs, canapés and mingling in the afternoon, and were serenaded by a guitarist who also turned DJ in the evening. They also had light up letters and a personalised sweetie bar, complete with both the bride’s and groom’s favourite sweets! They decorated the venue with flowers and photographs, because they wanted to keep it simple and not distract from the beauty of the venue. It was lovely to see some of the photos from their engagement shoot on display! For dinner they had a delicious sit down meal, which was really yummy! The first dance was a lovely moment, and they finished off the evening with lots of dancing after a few drinks! They also made personalised favour bags for all their guests which included all the ingredients for a ‘wedding recovery kit’!
The funniest part of the day was later in the evening, because Dominique ended up down on the floor in her wedding dress to play with the twins! She even had one of the boys running his Thomas the Tank Engine over her head!
The couple
Dominique wore a dress by Allure Bridal and Nick wore a navy Reiss suit accompanied by a tweed waistcoat, and they looked so perfect together. Dominique’s shoes were by Rachel Simpson and she added a gorgeous clip to each one for a bit of added sparkle, and Nick’s shoes were leather brogues from Dune. I particularly loved Dominique’s gorgeous veil, which was really stunning.
Dominique and Nick met at work and have been together for a long time. They got in touch with me after we met at the National Wedding Show and their enquiry was really exciting as their plans sounded fantastic. They said they wanted a photographer who would be like a guest, and I loved that they were so relaxed.
Dominique and Nick’s wedding was really gorgeous and just the happiest occasion. Here’s their wonderful wedding!
