Shuttleworth Swiss Garden Wedding in Hertfordshire | Anna & Cian
Anna and Cian contacted me earlier this year, with just a couple of months to go until their wedding. They were planning a very small intimate Shuttleworth Swiss Garden Wedding ceremony at the lovely Shuttleworth House. After a consultation over a cup of tea, they booked me to capture their special day. I was so excited to be invited to be a part of their wedding!
I started the day with both Anna and Cian at their house, where Anna was busy getting ready upstairs. We arranged a ‘first look’ in the back garden, with a lovely backdrop of rolling fields. It was a very emotional moment when Cian turned to see his beautiful bride-to-be looking absolutely stunning. The couple then hopped in a taxi and I headed up the A1 to meet them at Shuttleworth.
I’d nipped over to Shuttleworth to meet Anna and Cian again for their Engagement Shoot in the gardens in February. We had a chance to talk through the many photogenic spots beautiful Swiss Garden had to offer, so we had a good idea of what to expect on the wedding day. Because Anna and Cian had decided to do things a little differently for their wedding, we began with some quick portraits before the ceremony. It was lovely to have a nice relaxed wander around the grounds, and we were SO lucky with the weather. Despite a bit of a chill in the air, the March weather had turned and gave us some incredible sunshine!

After the portraits, the formalities of the registrar interview took place in the lower room of the tiny Shuttleworth Swiss Cottage. The cottage is such a beautiful little building. It’s full of intricate details in the entrance, walls and ceiling. But ‘little’ is the operative word – it seats only 20 people, so it was a bit cozy, even with the small number of close family and friends attending the ceremony!
A quick 20 minutes later, Anna and Cian were pronounced husband and wife! They made their exit into the sunshine and clouds of confetti, and after some quick group shots, enjoyed some bubbles on the lawn.
It was lovely to be a part of such an intimate ceremony, and to share Anna and Cian’s happy day.
