Snowy Offley Place Wedding in Hertfordshire – Mel & Rob

If you love snowy weddings, then you’ll love this gorgeous Offley Place wedding!

Mel and Rob got married at the stunning Offley Place, Hertfordshire, in March. It was a wonderful wintery wedding, with tea inspired decor and afternoon tea served as the wedding breakfast! March brought us the ‘Beast from the East’ and I’d been checking the weather all week worried about whether it would snow. The day before the wedding the main road to the venue was actually closed due to snow, but thankfully it was clear enough for almost everyone to make it to Mel and Rob’s big day! And we still had beautiful untouched snow in Offley Place’s beautiful grounds, so it was ideal!

Getting ready

Mel got ready in the Offley Place bridal suite with her bridesmaids and mum, and there was such a calm vibe. Whilst the girls were getting ready I said hello to Rob and his boys, and used the time to capture some details of the decor. Mel wore a lovely gown, and looked absolutely beautiful. Once she was ready and her dad had an emotional first look at his little girl all ready for her big day, she then made her way down the grand staircase to get to the ceremony.

The wedding

The ceremony took place in the beautiful conservatory at Offley Place, which is so light and bright at the best of times – even more so with snow outside! The ceremony began with the lovely groom, Rob, dabbing away tears at the sight of his beautiful bride, which was such an emotional moment. I always get a bit emotional when the groom gets tearful! As the couple made their exit as husband and wife, there was a big cheer from everyone as they walked down the aisle.

After the ceremony, the couple were greeted by their guests out at the front of Offley Place to another big cheer. Then we took some time out for group photos, nice and quickly to ensure nobody got too chilly! We also took some time for couples portraits in the grounds, and I got some stunning couples photos in the snow – Mel even had wellies to keep her feet dry and warm! The weather was freezing, but that didn’t bother them at all!

The guests were entertained by music from Tall Dog Music in the reception, and everyone was then called in for the wedding breakfast, which was a delicious afternoon tea. It was so yummy. They had speeches after the meal, which were really fun – I particularly loved the best man’s speech, providing Rob with a sign to wave when he was concerned about the tone!

The evening

The evening ended with a ceilidh, which was so much fun – it’s so great to see everyone dancing and enjoying themselves! The whole wedding was so much fun, from the beautiful vows to the cosy shots I captured with Mel and Rob in the lounge area in the evening. One of the best parts of the wedding was a little flurry of snow that fell towards the evening, because we made it outside for a quick photo.

I loved this Offley Place wedding so much. If you’re getting married and looking for an Offley Place wedding photographer, get in touch. Here are the photos!
