Sophie & Stuart | Dodford Manor Wedding Photographer
I’ve been so excited to share images from Sophie and Stuart’s beautiful Dodford Manor wedding since I shot it back in May. This couple are an absolutely dream to photograph, and Dodford Manor is an absolutely stunning venue! You may remember this lovely couple from an earlier blog post featuring their beautiful autumnal engagement last year, which you can see again here.

The day began ten minutes down the road at a hotel, where the couple (keeping well away from each other of course!) and many of their guests had stayed the night before. It was such a lovely relaxed morning – Sophie’s make up was done by her maid of honour, and her hair styled by her aunt, which was lovely. There were so many giggles and a few clinks of champagne glasses as the morning went on, and a few happy tears too!
One of my favourite moments of the day was when Sophie’s dad arrived in the room to collect her and take her to the car to be married. His face was an absolute picture as he saw his beautiful daughter in her wedding dress for the first time.
At Dodford Manor, Stu was waiting patiently (and nervously!) for his beautiful bride. The moment the couple first saw each other as Sophie made her entrance down the aisle had many of the guests reaching for their tissues! The ceremony was lovely, and Stuart’s nephews had starring roles as ring-bearers. As the happy couple were pronounced Mr & Mrs Heath, the room erupted with cheers and there was a shower of confetti as they made their way back down the aisle.
Beautiful barn venue and dramatic skies
Dodford Manor is a beautiful barn venue has has so many lovely spots for photographs. We had to wait a while for the rain to clear, but when it did, it was time for some photos in the beautiful courtyard in between the ceremony and reception barns. The new Mr and Mrs Heath then made their entrance to the cheers and applause of their guests and immediately got on with their speeches – this is something that is more and more common at weddings these days, as it allows everyone to relax and enjoy the meal without having to worry about how their speech will go!
After a delicious meal and a few more photos in some lovely golden sunshine, Sophie and Stu cut their cake (made of cheese! My favourite kind!) and then had a lovely first dance. Towards the end of the evening I grabbed them for one final photograph outside. When the weather forecast is for rain showers, you have to make the most of amazing dramatic evening skies!
If you’re getting married at Dodford Manor (lucky you!) then drop me a line – I would love to discuss your photography!
Huge thanks to Sophie and Stuart for allowing me to capture your big day. I had an absolutely awesome time! Also big thanks to my awesome second shooter Ben!
